It’s been a while! We have been busy here this past week, and frankly I have been tired. But back to reality…
This guy. What a guy, right?
The first week of October is here, which means one thing: our anniversary! I hope you weren’t thinking pumpkin spice. This year is our fourth anniversary, but it doesn’t feel like it. I guess it is true when they say time flies when you’re having fun, and it has been fun!
Four years. Four years and so much has changed. We have gone from a tiny 400 sq. ft. apartment to buying our first home. We had our son, started the homestead, and now are preparing for the arrival of our daughter. That’s quite a journey in just four years! There have been highs and lows, but one thing is true: I love this man and am blessed to have him as my partner in crime in life.
On this anniversary, I want to acknowledge how special my husband is. He is the hardest working person I know who sacrifices so much time and energy to provide for his family and to help others. He gives without expecting anything in return. He takes time that could be spent doing something for himself to help others who need him. He truly seeks to show God’s love to those around him.
To our family, he is the most loving father and wonderful husband. Those of you who know me know I’m just a little bit ‘Type A’ and make list upon list upon list. Chance? Well, he despises my lists. He is the complete opposite which is exactly what I need. He helps me lighten up and enjoy life even when I am overwhelmed. He is the one I can count on to make me laugh and see the humor in things even when I don’t feel like it. He carries many of my burdens and helps me de-stress. He loves me for me and accepts me as I am.
He is the greatest father to our son who wants to be just like him. When his dad is home, Henry is all about spending every second with him. He is compassionate and caring and a great example of what a man and leader should be for our son. He is patient and a great teacher which is important when you’re parenting a toddler. I know everyone says it, but I truly loved him more when I saw him with Henry, and I can’t wait to see him with our daughter next month.
So to my dear husband on our anniversary, thank you. Thank you for all that you do for us. Thank you for being my best friend during these four years and loving me the way you do. Thank you for being the man that you are. I love you and look forward to so many more years and adventures with you.
